Following graduation from Queen's University Belfast in 2008 with a first class honours degree in Pharmacy, Rebecca Craig completed her pre-registration in hospital pharmacy. She returned to Queen's University to undertake a PhD under the supervision of Professor Colin McCoy and Professor Sean Gorman within the Pharmaceutical Science and Practice cluster. This research focussed on the use of light as a stimulus to effect pharmaceutically relevant responses in biomaterials and antimicrobial systems.
In 2012, Rebecca was appointed as a research fellow, working on an industry-funded project in the development of novel anti-infective medical devices. From 2015, Rebecca worked on an impact acceleration grant in the commercialisation of a novel high-level disinfectant with rapid spore eradicating activity.
Rebecca was appointed as Lecturer (Education) in August 2015, and is involved with the design and delivery of material in pharmaceutical analysis and clinical therapeutics on the MPharm and BSc degrees, and quality assurance and regulatory affairs on the BSc and MSc degrees, with particular focus on appropriate assessment strategies. Rebecca is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
