Research Interests

Experienced Senior Lecturer with a successful record of publication and teaching in Higher Education with a focus on active learning, laboratory based teaching, interdisciplinarity and encouraging students to think outside of narrow silos.  Curiosity is curiosity, beautiful and enriching in all its forms; if you're laughing, you're learning.

I have over 30 years experience in lecturing, public speaking, laboratory teaching, small group presentations, group facilitation, and general higher education teaching. I Graduated with a Ph.D from University College Dublin and St Vincent's Hospital Elm Park with further postgraduate qualifications in education from Queens University Belfast, and am an elected  Fellow of the Physiological Society and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I have a consistent and sustained publication history in innovative education for students of science, medicine and allied professions.  I am currently leading on interprofessional education and collaboration with Art, Music, Business and Drama professionals  in enhancing the experience of students at university level, most recently contributing to the June 7th 2022 Physiological Society Report to Parliament on the value of physiology education and training to UK Society.
