Research Focus

PhD title: Fostering food and nutrition security through sustainable development among vulnerable rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa. Research is focused on the effect of weather and climate shocks, on food security among smallholder farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Achievements

Shannon participated in the Environmental Leadership Programme 2018/19 and won the award for QUB Green Impact Postgraduate Student Leadership 2018/19. She continues to raise awareness and motivate QUB staff and students to act on climate change and live more sustainable lives through her work with the School of Biological Sciences' Green Impact Team.
