Teaching
I am a Registered Nurse and NMC registered teacher. I have completed my PhD, MSc. in Advancing Nursing Practice and PGCert in Learning, Teaching and Assessment in Higher Education and am a Fellow of the Higher Education Acadamey. I currently teach at both pre-registration and post–registration level.
I am year 1 lead for September 2025 undergraduate nursing and am also module co-coordinator for Public Health Perspectives, Essential Life Science and Preparation For Degree modules.
I teach across the year one undergraduate nursing programme, as well as into the Specialist Practice in Oncology post graduate programme and offer support to GEMS programme dissertation students.
I act as a link lecturer for health visiting and district nursing placements around NI and offer support to both students and placement areas to ensure that the required learning needs are met, and audits of these areas are completed.
I currently supervise 3 PhD students and support several Masters level dissertation students. My research interests include nursing education, health inequalities and health promotion.
