Biography

Dr Shuai Zhang is currently a lecturer at the School of Pharmacy, Queen's University Belfast. Dr Zhang graduated with a distinction degree in Material Science and Engineering from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China in 2012 and obtained his PhD degree (Science and Engineering - Biomaterials) from University of Dundee in 2016. Following this he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Ninewells Hospital developing anti-infection coatings for medical devices. He has actively engaged in establishing collaboration with industrial partners and was awarded the Innovator of the Year 2018 Award for early-stage new business ideas. Later he joined Queen’s University Belfast as a research fellow working on the topic of bioresorbable devices for promoting bone fracture healing. He now serves as a member of RSC, AMS, DHM, BC and EPSRC Review College and acts as a reviewer for over 15 international peer-reviewed journals.
