1. Environmental and social assessment and risk management; application and practice, what improvements can be made to commonly used appraisal tools (SEA, ESIA, ESDD) and control measures (CESMP, ESMP, ESMS, etc) in application to infrastructure projects.

2. Water demand management and policy in water-scarce and non water-scarce environments; adapting approaches and tools from one context to another.

3. Waste management - policy, incentives and drivers for behaviour change, with a focus on non-EU and non-OECD countries.

4. Consultation and stakeholder engagement during planning, construction and project operation. The social license to operate.

5. Sustainable finance, impact investing - how the increasing appetite for 'acceptable' investments can affect project planning and implementation. How can impact be better measured. Particular interest in mining projects.

6. Multi-cultural teams, improving teamwork on large international projects.
