Research Statement

Dr. Tao Wang specializes in the discovery and rational design of natural bioactive peptides for applications in antimicrobial therapy, biofilm disruption, inflammation control, cancer intervention, and antioxidant strategies. His research combines experimental biology with computer-aided peptide design, including molecular modeling and molecular dynamics, to create peptides with enhanced stability, selectivity, and multifunctionality.

By bridging computational design with biological validation, Dr. Wang develops next-generation peptide therapeutics targeting urgent biomedical challenges such as antibiotic resistance, persistent biofilms, and tumor microenvironments. His work fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and provides students with hands-on experience in high-impact projects at the interface of molecular pharmaceutics and translational peptide science.
