Research Focus

My research focuses on nutritional epidemiology, with an emphasis on diet, disease prevention and overall health. I investigate the role of dietary patterns, plant-based nutrition, and metabolic health in conditions such as cardiometabolic diseases, multiple sclerosis, and age-related functional decline. I have experience applying advanced statistical methods to large-scale datasets (e.g., NSHD, UKMSR, COSM, SMC) to assess diet-disease relationships. Additionally, I am interested in public health nutrition and sustainable food systems in nutrition research. Finally, I have solid experience supervising research at BSc, MSc, and PhD level.

Research Interests

How healthful and sustainable dietary patterns can enhance longevity, metabolic health, and reduce chronic disease risk. My research interests integrate nutritional epidemiology, public health, and sustainability, exploring the impact of diet as a whole on cardiometabolic health, inflammation, and age-related decline. I am particularly interested in plant-forward diets and sustainable food systems, aiming to translate findings into evidence-based strategies for chronic disease prevention and public health improvement.
