Research Focus

My PhD research examines the ecological coordination of compact urban form. The study focuses on three UK cities—Belfast, Glasgow, and Liverpool—as case study areas. The project aims to explore how urban morphological characteristics interact with ecosystem-related outcomes. The research adopts a predominantly quantitative approach. It combines expert surveys, the development of an evaluation indicator framework, and the application of several Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) models to investigate ecological coordination efficiency across the selected cities. In conducting this research, I make extensive use of GIS-based and computational tools, including ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth Engine (GEE), and R for spatial analysis and modelling.
