Projects in Nutritional Epidemiology and Public Health Nutrition. Different topics on the role of diet in the prevention of chronic diseases possible, depending on personal interests and skills. MSc, MD, or PhD candidates very welcome, please get in touch for more details. Collaborations with European partners, particularly the University and Medical University Vienna (Austria), and the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health (Germany) are an option.
Research activity per year
For my research I am using epidemiological studies including cohorts and dietary intervention trials. I am interested in nutritional epidemiology and preventive nutrition, with a focus on cancer and cardio-metabolic diseases. Further specific topics I am working on at the moment are plant-based diets and planetary health, intermittent fasting, or body composition and metabolic health.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
