Interests

My main research interests are in relation interventions to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes, with a particular interest in the impact of educational resources and lifestyle interventions among women with diabetes. Research interests also include investigating biomarkers for the prediction of pre-eclampsia among women with complex pregnancies.

Research Statement

Primary research interests:

Developing and evaluating educational resources and complex lifestyle interventions in relation to improving maternal and neonatal outcomes for women with complex pregnancies, with a particular interest in the field of diabetes.

Investigating risk and prophylaxis of pre-eclampsia in women with diabetes and exploring biomarkers for prediction of the condition.

Current projects are funded by a BRIDGES grant from the International Diabetes Federation (supported by an educational grant from Lilly Diabetes), Diabetes UK, The Big Lottery and the Public Health Agency / R&D Office Northern Ireland.
