Research Interests

Dr. Wei Zhang is a research fellow in computational mechanics/engineering design in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast. He obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Hunan University in China. He has developed computational inverse technologies and methodologies for identification, modelling and design of advanced materials & composite structures under extreme load and uncertain environments. Prior to his research post in 2015, he did his postdoctoral study at Inha University in South Korea where he was leading the research in inverse design and uncertainty analysis of fuel cell stacks. Dr. Zhang has published over 30 high quality academic papers and technical reports. He is a member of IACM.
