Research Interests

My interests focus on fundamental research topics and real-world applications in computer vision based on a variety of machine learning approaches including kernel methods, energy minimization, probabilistic graphical models, metric learning, transferring learning, and deep learning. Currently, I work on

  • Visual object recognition / tracking
  • Person re-identification and face recognition for real-world scenarios
  • Video understanding in the context of RGB/infrared data
  • Medical image processing and understanding
