Ye Tian is interested in investigating the new theoretical and practical insights translation can provide in understanding the promotion of soft power, especially in terms of nation branding. He is also intrigued by the theory of semiotic translation, and thus inclined in rethinking culture theories within the scope of intersemiotic translation.
Ye Tian is currently a member of the International Association for Translation and Interpreting Studies, the Canadian Association for Translation Studies, and the Yunnan Translators’ Association.
Ye Tian is a teaching assistant in MA Translation modules. He is responsible for giving the tutorials for MML 7033 "Meaning, Sense and Translation" and MML 7025 "Translation and Media". Meanwhile, he teaches students from MA Translation and MA Interpreting in the "Chinese Translation Workshop".
