Research Interests

My research interest is to investigate how Translation Studies can help us understand the promotion of soft power, especially the process of nation building and nation branding. I will look into theories like framing and culture otherness, and investigate the ideas such as 'translation as persuasion' and 'translation as subversion'. On top of that, I take China as a case study to examine its efforts in constructing its national identity and promoting its national image.
