Agility funds in the amount of A£7436 was awarded to help build proof-of-concept towards the development of an AI-powered Virtual Teacher Learning Environment (VTLE) by conducting a pilot study. The output of the pilot study is to submit the proposal to ESRC based on the proof-of-concept and feedback collected during the pilot. To this end, major milestones are as follows: 1) A convenient/purposive sample of primary teachers will be recruited from schools with high numbers of linguistically and culturally diverse children. 2)Chat-GPT student avatar prototype with features of bilingual student profile will be developed and piloted with teachers for their feedback. 3)A random convenient sample of video segments from real classrooms will be recorded. Convenience is a key factor to align with the flow of instruction without disruption.
