Best Platform Prize Winner - 2026 Northern Ireland Spring Meeting

Dr Nicola Ann (“Nicky”) Ward presented findings from the NICOLA 65+ Memory and Thinking Study at the British Geriatrics Society Northern Ireland Spring Meeting on March 6th.

Her presentation explored how friends or family members report changes in memory and daily functioning, which is an important part of dementia diagnosis. Using data from the NICOLA-HCAP sub-study, the research examined whether factors such as the informant’s relationship to the participant, how often they are in contact, and how long they have known the person influence how cognitive or functional decline is reported.
