ICURE = the universities of Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Southampton, Surrey, and Queen’s University, Belfast

In pursuit of deeper insight into the question of how Barre can be used and adapted to meet the needs of the performing arts in higher education and beyond, the researcher embarked on a mission to speak with experts and leaders in various fields, including medicine, education, performing arts, dance and sports science, resort health and wellness programmes, and fitness. This opportunity was funded by a generous award through ICURe (Innovation to Commercialisation of University Research), under the auspices of the Directorate of Research and Enterprise (R&E) at Queen’s University, Belfast, in collaboration with the universities of Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Southampton, and Surrey.
The researcher travelled for meetings to several cities throughout Italy, the United States, England, Scotland, Germany, Sweden, and Hong Kong. The interviewees who participated in one-to-one meetings with the researcher included (in order of interview):
