I was re-elected President of the EAAS on 9 May 2020, the world’s largest American Studies association (circa 4500-5000 members) across 22 member associations in 35 countries. As the youngest – and first Irish – President in the EAAS’s 66-year history, this honour underlines the unrivalled position I hold in international leadership in my field across Europe. I am the first EAAS President to be re-elected to a second four-year term.
