Queen's University Belfast: Innovation in Teaching Fund - £1400

Prize: Other distinction

Description

Using virtual reality technology, we aim to develop a virtual NIB laboratory to enable gamification of the bio-banking process for patients with cancer. In order to achieve this, researchers in MHLS (Prof. Jaqueline James, Dr. Claire Lewis, and Dr. Stephanie Craig) are working with researchers in EEECS (Dr. Matthew Collins, and Dr. Richard Gault). This fund will be used to purchase VR headsets to enable the use of the VR software developed by the team for public engagement (Personal and public initiative forums, promotion of EEECS/PGJCCR/NIB cross-faculty research at school events) and use at conferences to promote knowledge transfer activities of tissue banking.
