Shortlisted Finalist for Special Contribution Award

Citation: David has demonstrated a sustained commitment, real passion and dedication to not only volunteering himself but instilling a sense of social responsibility and public engagement with Nursing Students by inspiring them to volunteer. His vision is to improve the quality of life and living conditions for both children and adults with and without learning disabilities living in depleted and deprived areas of Timisoara, Romania and he has v=created an international elective placement for his students to meet their learning objectives whilst making a real difference in the lives of others. Over the past four years David motivated students to set about fundraising and immersed himself fully in the fundraising process also. the total funds raised in the four years to date have been £17.500 and during student placements in Romania the students decide where the greatest need is and are able to purchase really meaningful items that will make a difference.
