Description

Analysis of administrative data on young people's contact with different criminal justice agencies in order to examine if some groups are over-represented. Qualitative interviews to explore possible reasons for system contact.

Key findings

High levels of missing data means statistical analysis of over-representation difficult to ascertain. However, there is some evidence to suggest some groups may be entering at a higher rate. Factors were identified in the risk of repeat contact with the youth justice agency.
