Abstract

Υ′ precipitate morphology and its dissolution/precipitation kinetics in a special oxide dispersion-strengthened Ni-base superalloy have been investigated. Using an advanced computer programme based on regression analysis, the volume fraction of Υ′ and its composition as a function of temperature were calculated. The lattice constants of both Υ′ precipitates and Υ matrix have been compared and the resultant lattice misfit computed. Finally, the concentration of Al remaining in Υ matrix was determined. The results show generally good agreements with available data for ordinary superalloys. Comparison was made against experimental study by using differential scanning calorimetry.
