Abstract
The article introduces the changes effected by the so called 2nd Equal Treatment Act, which adapted German employment law to some of the demands of European Community sex equality law. The main focus of the legislation was to introduce women's advancement plans for federal public employers, though these did not create an individual rights for women, and to install women equality officers for federal public employers.
