Abstract

The reaction of the gold(I) ylide complex [(AuPPh3) 2{μ-C(PPh3)(C5H4N-2)}]ClO 4 with AgNO3 yields the mixed metal complex [(AuPPh 3)2{μ-C(PPh3)(C5H 4N-2)}{μ-Ag(η2-O2NO)(OClO3)], the central moiety of which consists of a loose Au2Ag cluster with metal-metal contacts ca. 3 Å.
