Abstract
This paper introduces an LCC-DAB converter topology connecting two LCC networks. It utilizes IGCTs, hence, allows mimicking similar control and performance as in IGBT based VSC-DAB. IGCTs feature higher efficiency, higher short circuit current and higher power ratings. Analysis and simulations are provided confirming its potential in connecting LCC-HVDC networks.
