Abstract

Mechanical ventilation is relevant intervention in intensive care units (ICUs) which occasionally can be complicated with the development of airways infections such as ventilator-associated tracheobronchitis (VAT) or ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). We have applied a transcriptomic anlysis to characterize and identify potential molecular mechanisms associated with the development of VAT and/or VAP in patients admitted to the ICU
