Abstract
This paper provides a statistical analysis of radio channels used in IEEE 802.11be based wireless local area networks (WLANs). Channel measurements were conducted across eight different indoor and outdoor client to access point (AP) communication scenarios for both line-of-sight (LOS) and non-LOS (NLOS) channel conditions. We investigate the path loss, large-scale and small-scale fading across 256 frequency points between 6.425 and 6.445 GHz. In our analysis, we use the popular lognormal distribution to characterize the large-scale fading, and the Rician distribution for the small-scale fading. We also present a set of parameter estimates and summary statistics for the path loss, large and small-scale fading, so our results can be used to assist with future WLAN design.
