Abstract
Gas separation and purification operations are relevant at levels ranging from industry to social, since they are necessary for the production of everyday items and fuel materials, the capture of toxic or greenhouse gases. The importance of these type of operations along with the increasing need to develop sustainable industrial separation technologies has driven research in this field. In this article we will briefly review two recent Technologies in the field of gas capture and separation, deep eutectic solvents, or DES and porous liquids. We will discuss recent developments, the positive and negative aspects, recommendations and future perspectives for both technologies.
