Advanced target fabrication

Abstract

The report focuses on the microfabrication of advanced silicon and polymer targets for the application in the field of laser driven protons and particles acceleration. A particular attention is given to the fabrication technologies of the target materials and to their intrinsic physical and chemical characteristics with a special attention to their capability to store hydrogen atoms which can allow the production of high current, high energy protons beams. Results of experiments performed in the last few years are also discussed.
