Abstract

The study’s purpose is to comprehend and explain the drivers and barriers to institutional crowdfunding. Institutional crowdfunding is the use of crowdfunding by arts and cultural organizations, such as museums, performing arts companies, libraries, and cultural heritage sites. Few empirical crowdfunding studies investigate the adoption and use of crowdfunding by these organizations.
