Abstract
Commissioned and developed in 2009, Cardboard Cities was created by artists Caragh O'Donnell and Sinead Breathnach Cashell working with Ali FitzGibbon as producer through Young at Art and Peter Muetschler as curator of Ps2. The artists developed the concepts of an interactive exhibition over a six month period with children from St Mary's Primary School and Blythefield Primary School, located in communities experiencing significant regeneration. Students from QUb School of Architecture also engaged in the project. The resulting exhibition was presented in a popup space on Anne Street in Belfast as part of the international Belfast Children's Festival and went on to be remounted at regular intervals in different pop up spaces until 2014.
