Abstract

This study examines types of value co-created through stakeholder engagement and knowledge co-creation using a case study of seven UK Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) contracted by the State to delivery public services. Using multiple data collection methods, we show that three categories of engagement platforms (joint processes, physical resources/spaces/events, and digital applications) and three levels of engagement (cognitive, emotional, and behavioural engagement) are relevant in the co-creation of value in NGO multi-stakeholder settings. Showing how different types of value are co-created through stakeholder engagement at various stages of knowledge co-creation, raises the potential for improved value demonstration and sustainability.
