Consent, Autonomy and Coercion: A Response to Robin West

Abstract

Robin West’s 2019 Chorley Lecture offers important insights in relation to the ethic of consent in sexual life. In this response, I argue that by embracing the contested nature of the concept of consent there is room for deeper conversations about the boundaries of sex, criminalisation and harm.
