Abstract
The objective of this work is to build an integrated system for control and monitoring a stationary waste heat recovery (WHR) Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system using R134a as the working fluid. This includes developing a control algorithm and to implement it on the WHR test rig in real-time using Programmable Logic Controllers. The control system is designed to monitor and control properties of the R134a in different components in order to maximise the output power of the system, whilst ensuring the safety of the system.
