Abstract

Energy-differential ionization cross-sections were calculated for the singlet channel of the Temkin-Poet (TP) model for an incident electron energy of 20 eV. A sufficient number of states were included in the close-coupling expansion to ensure convergence with the number of coupled states. It was concluded that the method would suffer from unphysical oscillations and would not yield the correct form of the single-differential ionization cross sections (SDCS).
