Debating international intellectual property: a TWAIL perspective

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter (peer-reviewed)peer-review

Abstract

This chapter analyses contemporary international intellectual property (IP) issues through the lenses of Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL). The chapter has two main objectives: first, to show the political economy of international IP by engaging with historical negotiations for IP treaties; second, to discuss a contemporary IP issue through TWAIL. In doing so, the chapter engages with the recent debate on IP and COVID-19 vaccines, followed by a discussion on improving international investment law from an IP perspective.
