Abstract

This paper presents a tilted beam antenna design working at 155 GHz. The proposed antenna is based on Fabry Perot resonant cavity antenna concept. Using a metallic partially reflective surface (PRS), the reported antenna is fed by a rectangular waveguide and, as such, is designed to be compatible with the available 3D metal printing techniques. The beam tilting is achieved by grading the size of the perforations in the unit cells of the PRS. A beam tilt of 15° is shown with a gain of 18 dBi at the operating frequency. Moreover, a feed offset approach is proposed to further improve the beam tilt angle.
