Abstract

In this paper, an efficient and minimized rectifier using lumped inductors and capacitors is introduced. To simplify the design, an inductor is used to cancel the imaginary part of the Schottky diode for the input matching circuit design. Then, a LC lowpass filter is designed to suppress the RF signal at the DC output port. To demonstrate, a 2.45 GHz rectifier is designed and fabricated. Thanks to the lumped components, The fabricated rectifier only occupies an area of 15 mm X 10 mm. The fabricated rectifier exhibits a peak power conversion efficiency of 76.7% when the input power is 11 dBm. Our design proves that the lumped components can be used in the high efficiency rectifier design at the frequencies below 3 GHz which will benefit minimized rectifier design.
