Abstract
This research paper is based on my Master Thesis under the same title (Master Choreography, Fontys, Tilburg, 2013). This study is based on Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's theory about flow and its nine characteristics. Interpretative phenomenological analysis was applied while interviewing three professional ballet dancers on the topic of flow experiences in ballet. Topics as the skills-challenge balance, the merging of action-awareness, as well as the effects of music, choreography, role, costume, effective preparation, teacher's attitude and behaviour and the audience are discussed in the thesis.
