Abstract

Between Feb. 2016 and Feb. 2017, Amanda worked with colleagues in the School of Sociology, University College Dublin to analyse data from Generation What, a pan-European research project focusing on the values, attitudes and experiences of people aged 18-34. Involving nearly one million participants across Europe, our team analysed findings from an online survey with approx. 33,000 Irish millennials.

Amanda was one of two sociologists who presented and analysed findings from the data in the RTÉ Generation What? documentary; preparing for the documentary involved data analysis, writing scripts, filming, and significant collaboration with School colleagues and staff in the production company. The documentary was aired in October and November 2017 and Amanda undertook several, additional media interviews to disseminate findings.
