Abstract
Infectious 2.0: Generative Art in Video Format
“Infectious 2.0” explicitly expresses everyone’s anxiety during this COVID-19 epidemic moment. It embodied an abstract visualization displaying the mental but practical condition in reality nowadays. From one perspective, “Infectious” not only refers to the physical/ pathological contagion but also metaphorically indicates the uncertain threatening rumors spreading out just like the virus. However, every cloud has a silver lining. The resulting organic structure in this video can be understood as virus infection processes while it can also be interpreted as a strong binding connection between each other against the public enemy, COVOD-19.
infectious 2.0 was selected as an artwork exhibited on the Homeostasis Lab platform. Homeostasis Lab is a Brazilian website/space for reflection on the impacts of digital media on the poetry, practice, and aesthetics of contemporary art.
Exhibited at Homeostasis Lab platform, May 2021
