Abstract
In this article a quasicirculator is combined with an injection-locked VCO in order to build an analogue phase-shifter unit. The novel phase shifter requires only a dc tuning signal to be applied to the VCO in order to achieve phase encoding. The intrinsic performance of the circuit and its method of operation are described. In addition, the application of the quasi-circulator injection-locked phase shifter as the control element in a simple repeater array is demonstrated in terms of its beam steering potential.
