Abstract

An individual’s exposome is comprised of every single environmental exposure that an individual will experience in their lifetime1. Exposomic research may hold the key to solving unknown disease aetiology2. Biomedical informatics should be a vital component to furthering exposome research3. There has been a recent surge in exposome associated literature and we sought to answer the question “Is the exposome field sufficiently supported by informatic tools?”. We concentrated on bioinformatic tool usage (e.g. knowledge representation tools such as ontologies, databases and software) and their exposome field application
