Just in time: theorising the contemporary

Abstract

The interdisciplinary essays collected in this volume problematise the idea of ‘contemporary’ as the present. Adopting various philosophical, art theoretical and literary approaches, they demonstrate that the contemporary is an open fissure in the present, which lacerates the linear flow of time. This anachronism is ‘just time’ to make radical changes in history.
