Abstract

This chapter has a thematic focus on employment and the continuum of population mobility. It adopts a geographical perspective on labour market developments in the UK over the 20 years since the early 1990s and discusses associated spatial mobility, subsuming both commuting and migration. The discussion is set within a broader context of interdisciplinary and international scholarship.
