Abstract
This article examines the current wave of harassment of Lebanese LGBTQ+ activism in the context of the power-sharing government undergoing a "legitimation crisis." It argues that as Lebanon's power-sharing system has increasingly become more semi-authoritarian, state and non-state actors have responded to popular dissent by framing LGBTQ+ activism as a security threat. The article concludes by questioning the role of international actors as supporters of Lebanese LGBTQ+ rights.
