Abstract

In the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries many of the territories in which Muslim adherents reside have become synonymous with war and conflict rather than peace. This is particularly true of the modern Muslim domains of the Middle East, where Muslim majority countries such as Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Algeria and Yemen have become engulfed in internal civil and external regional wars and conflicts.
