Abstract
MNs have gained significant attention in treating the skin carcinoma via transdermally/dermally. The combination of MNs with anticancer drugs offers benefits such as bypassing the first-pass effect, enhancing the concentration of the drug at the skin carcinoma site, mitigating systemic exposure to drugs in treating of early stages of skin carcinoma, and minimizing unwanted side effects. Nevertheless, in cases of metastasis, the MNs could release the anticancer drugs into the systemic circulation, serving as an alternative to invasive methods such as intravenous and subcutaneous injections. MNs are 3rd generation transdermal/dermal delivery systems, which have advantages over various traditional formulations due to their ability to puncture the stratum corneum, which is the main barrier to drug permeation. With all these advantages, the delivery of anticancer drugs using MNs is treating skin carcinoma. Furthermore, clinical studies need to be conducted for further validation
