Abstract
Monitoring Room: VR Immersive Interactive Art Installation Exhibited in Video Format
“Monitoring Room an immersive VR interactive piece questioning “What is reality” under rapid VR development and other related topics. In the “Monitoring Room”, it mainly focuses on the current “monitoring” issue by providing a unique mixed-physical/virtual experience for the audience to sequentially transit from being “monitoring” to “monitored”. “Monitoring” here reflects on the surveillance problem coming not only from the Big Brother (the government and corporate) owning the privilege to manipulate private data but also individual social media power interfering with everyone’s daily lives.
Monitoring Room is a VR artwork showcased as a video art here selected as one of 23 artworks exhibited in the theme of “Concept” at CICA (Czong Institute for Contemporary Art) in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea
Exhibited at CICA (Czong Institute for Contemporary Art) 27 July-14 August).
