Abstract
The thiazolidine-2,4-dione ring of insulin-sensitizing antidiabetic agents can be replaced by ?-acyl-, ?-alkyl- and ?-(aralkyl)-carboxylic acids. The inclusion of an addnl. lipophilic moiety affords compds., equipotent to BRL 48482.
